    • On Saturday, May 23rd, a one-day science, engineering, math, and technology camp is offered for girls in grades 7-9 from 9:30am-3;45pm at UPEI. The aim is to expose participants to hands-on science activities and careers so that they can make informed decisions about subject choices in later school years.
Girls will participate in an engineering project, design in CAD, explore biophysics, and perform chemical experiments. They will also meet female role models who are working in the science, engineering, and technology fields.
The event is hosted by IslandWISE (Women in Science and Engineering), EngineersPEI, ITAP (Innovation Technology Association of PEI), and UPEI. Register by calling the Engineers PEI office at 566-1268 or go to http://www.engineerspei.com/node/353. Spots are limited. Cost is $10, which includes lunch. Subsidies are available upon request.
