Wednesday, May 16 Day 1

  • NOTE:  Boys softball practice after school today has been cancelled due to the weather conditions and flagfootball will not run over the next 5 weeks due to lack of interest.
  • There will be an announcement later regarding boys softball practice today.
  • The girls’ softball team defeated Callaghan 6-4.  Winning pitcher was Kaylan Ellsworth. Girls play on Thursday against SIS at 4:30 pm at the Ellis field.
  • The boys lost last night to Callaghan.  They play on Thursday against SIS at 4:30 pm in O’Leary at the rink field.
  • Reminder to Weight Club members to the have their money and permissions forms in to Mr. Robertson by Thursday. Also, you must have a clean pair of indoor shoes to take with you on the trip to iron Haven on Friday.
  • Reminder to H&T students to pass in your signed contract to Mr. Rix at recess.
  • Reminder to Grade 7 students and Leadership students to hand in your Enhanced French forms and leadership surveys to the office ASAP.
  • There will be golf practice on Thursday from 3:15-4:30 pm.
  • Grade 9 students be sure to pick up a Parliamentary bookmark in the library before you head to Ottawa next week.
  • Ellerslie Minor Soccer Registration for Under 13 (children born 1999-2001) can be made through Alison Griffin 859-8856 / or Jason Cormier 831-7920. Cost is $30.
  • FLAG FOOTBALL:   After-school Flag football is returning once again.  Program begins Wed, May 16 from 3:15-4:15 by the O’Leary Rec. Dept.  Weather permitting it will take place outdoors each week (5 weeks).  This is open to all students (boys and girls) grades 7-9.  All that is needed is running shoes.  *Though this is a flag (non-tackle) program it will serve as a great introductory to the basic fundamentals of football AND a potential “tackle” football program which may be introduced in the near future.  Sign up on the office window if interested.
