Monday, February 6 Day 2

  • Newsletters will be going home with students tomorrow (if all goes well:)
  • There will be no school February 20th due to Islander Day!
  • Yearbook sales will be continuing for the next 2 weeks.  We need to get our sales up so please come and support our school yearbook and buy one today.  They will not be available to buy in the spring. 
  • Cookie Dough orders are due February 16th to Mrs. Dyment-Colwill. 
  • Hernewood played hard at the Callaghan tournament this past weekend.  Player of the game went to Karissa Horne, Julia O’Halloran, and Dena McHugh.  Tournament MVP was Laura Ashley.
  • There will be late practice for the boys basketball team on Tuesday and Wednesday (5:00-6:30 pm)
  • Congratulations to the Honour Band Students for a very successful weekend. The Concert at the Confederation Centre on Sunday was unbelievable!  The honour band students who represented Hernewood are Hillary Hutchinson, Alyx Ellis, Aneasa Ramsay, Hannah MacMillan and Kiana McNeill. Way to go girls!
  • Any student who would like to recommend new books for the library, stop by the library and your name will be entered for a chance to win a Chapters Gift Card!
  • There will be an AY meeting Tuesday after school until 4:15 pm.
  • Hernewood School will be hosting the girls Elementary School Basketball tournament on Monday, February 6 from 12:00-5:00.  Due to the lack of space available for fans, Hernewood students are not permitted to be in the gym at this time. The only exception would be if he/she is signed out by a parent and has a sister competing.  We appreciate everyone’s support
